link to article fro hub pages this article dicusses how the indie subculture can be seen to have evolved from 1960s indie rock (mod rock) with bands such as the who and the clash, but many see the start of the indie scene as the 1980s with bands such as the smiths and joy division. From this reseach i can see that including an intertextual reference to one of these bands in my music video would be appropriate as my audience will ahve a knowledege of these bands.
